GENERAL THINGS TO NOTE

Due to the length of time it takes to make a children's book, I do require a services agreement to be put together and signed by both parties in order to get started on the illustration work. Since most of the items listed here are project-specific, it is something I am happy to discuss with you. This agreement will include:- Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), if preferred by the author
- A general or completed script to follow and expand upon
- An estimated page count and layout of the children's book
- The necessary types of illustration required (see above)
- Author's rights to the completed artwork and IP
- Agreement to the method of compensation (see below)
- Negotiable illustrator royalties (between 5-10%) after profits are made

COMPENSATION

The payment for children's book illustrations will be completed in two installments per illustration:- 50% of payment after the initial sketch of the page is laid out
- 50% of payment after the completed illustration is sent
All payments are made through Zelle, PayPal, or Cashapp.

REVISIONS

I am very lenient when it comes to small revisions throughout the process of the illustration. Feel free to comment on anything that needs tweaking during the drawing process. All illustration types include 2 free major revisions.Any extra major revisions will be $20 each. Continuously revising large parts of a drawing while already well into working on it can slow down the process a lot, which is why I charge this.Examples of major revisions:- Moving the location of a character/large object
- Changing the character's design or what they are wearing
- Changing large components in the background
- Changing the colors of multiple components, etc.
It is great to be as specific as you can about your creative vision in order to ensure a smooth drawing process.

DEADLINES

Deadlines for children's books are very project-specific, so feel free to comment on the guidelines you're looking for. Most children's books will range from 3-6 months of work depending on the amount of pages and the steps you take to publish.I'll send you updates every week throughout the major parts of the drawing process (sketch, lines, base colors, rendering, etc.) It is great to have a reliable line of communication with you to make sure the drawings are satisfactory each step of the way.

Let me know if you have any questions, I look forward to working with you!
